Geoff has worked at Milton Keynes Council since 1998. His role embraces the promotion of Milton Keynes to external audiences and investors and major projects to secure the long-term success of the city – the fastest growing economy and place in the UK. This includes leading the MK Futures 2050 project that is delivering a new long-term vision and strategy for the city.
Geoff leads the Milton Keynes Future City Programme – an internationally prominent smart city collaboration with a strong focus on innovation and citizen engagement. Projects include the MK:Smart city data hub and internet of things network plus low carbon and intelligent mobility – including wireless induction-charged electric bus routes and the UK Autodrive project that is developing autonomous transport services in the city.
Geoff is leading the city’s bid to be European Capital of Culture 2023 and chairs the Directors’ Group of the national Fast Growth Cities Network. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the World Broadband Alliance and was recently expert advisor on smart cities for the TCPA & UK Embassy Urbanisation Roadshow to China (November 2016).
